Does our hope for the better
let us fear what is to come?
Does our passion for safety
cause us to only care about some?
We always show ourselves
to be scared of what’s new.
We only care for our comfort
instead of knowing what’s true;
that even behind our wall
we can still be crushed.
Even by what we fear least,
our breaths could be hushed.
Yet we stand behind this wall
with a false sense of security;
impossibly safe from harm’s way,
impeding Her from maturity.
Think outside of the self,
for it is nothing but a figment.
This cycle is much greater
than the time-stamp of your signent.
Things will never be easy,
so why be it of my belief.
One moment we’re of the world,
and in the next there is a relief.
This is not to say
that we shouldn’t be wary,
because we all know
that this life can be scary.
But we must recognize
what we can and can’t control.
Don’t live by fearing
for anxiety can take its toll.
