Happy Place

It has been very important to me to stay levelheaded and at peace throughout these troublesome days of quarantine. In practicing my meditations and escaping to my happy place, I’ve allowed myself to find a peace within myself that I need to be content with the current condition of our world. Clockwork

I originally wrote this poem while I was on campus during the beginning of my Spring 2020 semester at Randolph College. During that time, I was going to classes, studying, working, playing basketball, and running two clubs. Though I had a lot to do, my life felt monotonous because it was the same thing over and over every week and I found myself lost in the day-to-day things. This applies to me now for the opposite reason insofar that everyday is blended together and I feel lost because I feel like I have no sense of direction. How do you relate?

Clarity

We are made to be lifted up by the collective consciousness that gives us our reason and purpose. Whether you see that collective as God, the Universe, or Mother Nature, we must be willing to live together all while celebrating our differences. Respecting the values and beliefs of the many only allows for us to be a little bit more content with our own faiths. Only by accepting others can we truly accept ourselves.
